Facebook is all about the groups these days. From solo women’s travel to Bali groups, there’s a community for every travel interest. But what about those of us who love to armchair travel? Fret not, our book club What Wandering Women Read is here to inspire your next literary adventure.
When the frenzy of the outside world gets to much, the bookworms among us know the comfort that a great read brings.
And with COVID-19 continuing to turn the world upside down and force us indoors, there’s never been a better reason to bed down and escape into a book.
So as we search for a silver lining, perhaps it’s that cancelled travel plans equals more time to read?
That’s certainly how I feel, as I stare down the barrel of potentially cancelled flights to London and a long dreamed-of itinerary, now up in the air.
Amidst the worry, last weekend I turned to social media for solace, and landed on a link to a book list of female travel memoirs. This sparked the idea to start a book club for women, with a focus on travel reads.
And so, What Wandering Women Read was born, with an open invitation to Travel with Jane readers to join.
Next week, we’re going to get a poll going on the titles that should make April’s top 10 reads. Once we’re happy with the list, we’re going to give 10 gals in our community the chance to win the digital download of their choice – be it Kindle or Audible.
